Labor Day Family Fun-Fest!

This Saturday @ the Strip -- Desert Thunder Raceway proudly presents the inaugural Labor Day Family Fun-Fest.

This event can best be described as a party in the pits -- followed by some red-hot racin’ down the strip.  So bring your Hawaiian Tropic and brisket, along with BBQ grills, lawn chairs, golf carts, and bicycles.

• On the party dance card, a bicycle gambler races and golf cart drags. 
   
• On the racin’ dance card, a (non-points) bracket blitz and match racing.

Gates open @ 2pm -- party in the pits from 2pm-6pm -- racin’ starts @ 7pm.  Spectator side is $10.00 -- pit-side is $15.00.

Also on Wednesday & Friday nights – DPC Custom Design & Printing presents wide-open test & tune sessions. 

Gates open @ 6pm -- the track open @ 7pm.  Spectator side is $5.00 -- pit-side is $10.00 -- test & tune is $25.00.

AHRA ANNOUNCED JR. DRAGSTER CHAMPIONSHIPS IN OCTOBER 2010

February 24th, 2010 11:15 A.M. PST Spokane Valley, WA/ Midland, TX

Emphasizing their commitment to building a strong Jr. Drag Racing program, the AHRA announced today that the AHRA Jr. Dragster Championships to be held October 2nd, 2010 at Desert Thunder Raceway in Midland, Texas.

The Jr. Dragster Championships will feature a limited open-entry, pre-registration format in multiple classes. Participation details will be released in the near future according to AHRA C.E.O. Troy Moe.

“Jr. Dragsters are the seed of all drag racing and the life-blood of our Sportsmen programs,” Moe said. “Our program is focused on developing safe racing habits for the drivers as well as providing a safe, wholesome, family-friendly environment for the participants.”

“We’re strongly committed to our Juniors, and are working to provide large incentives and awards for the drivers as well” , he said.

Rules and car specifications can be found on the AHRA website at www.ahradragracing.com. “Additional classes are being added to accommodate as many racers as possible” , Moe said.
